Legrand, Iosif Charles

Senior Scientist, California Institute of Technology and CERN

 

Iosif Charles Legrand is a Senior Scientist of the Division of Physics, Mathematics and Astronomy at the California Institute of Technology. He holds an MS in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Bucharest, Romania, and a PhD in Theoretical Physics from the Institute of Atomic Physics in Bucharest. He worked as an engineer at the Institute of Nuclear Power Reactors in Romania, a senior researcher at the Romanian Institute of Atomic Physics, an Associate Professor at the University of Bucharest, and a Scientific Associate at the European Center for Nuclear Research and the Deutsches Elekronen Synchrotron. He has been senior scientist at the California Institute of Technology since 1998. He received the Romanian Academy of Science Award for Physics ("Dragomir Hurmuzescu”) in 1992.
